Boblbee MegalopolisI have a bad back. It literally pains me to admit this. When did I transform from a young twenty-something to the type of person who complains of back pain? I'm hoping that this week's Freshware can help to some degree.

The Swedish company Boblbee makes what they call urban backpacks. Perhaps you've seen them before? They look like sleds, only smaller. They have an indentation towards the bottom of the pack that is supposed to provide lumbar support. If this actually works, I think that it's brilliant. Whenever I have to carry around my laptop computer for any extended period of time, my back pays a stiff price.

The interior of the pack has compartments that snugly hold a laptop, floppies, CD ROMs and other gear. The exterior is a hard monocoque (that just means it's fabricated out of one piece) shell. The best feature of the pack, however, has to be the cell-phone zipper pouch that's attached to the shoulder strap. It's perfect for when you need to get to your cell phone in a hurry. Just think, no more digging around in your backpack. One drawback to the backpacks is their price: $275 for the Bobelino Limited Edition, which has a cool chrome exterior (that matches the Nokia 8860) and $225 for the People's Delite and Megalopolis.
